As an overseas performance agency subordinate to Shenzhen Cultural Bureau and approved by the Ministry of Culture, Shenzhen Municipal Performing Art Company(SPC)  is specialized in sponsoring and organizing performance activities. SPC is staffed with a specialized team and has extensive experience in planning, organizing, producing and receiving a full range of performance activities and large-scale theatrical activities in particular.

In recent years, SPC has organized performance activities for many artistic troupes and artists from five continents around the world, including such regions as Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. SPC upholds good faith and provides high quality services and thus has won extensive trust and commendation. Particularly, “Black Fire Troupe” introduced by SPC from Sierra Leone set a record in the country. This performance won “Select Performance Award” granted by the Ministry of Culture as well as “Special Award” and “Best Performance Award” in “Foreigners Sing Chinese Songs” prix competition for TV stations around the country. In addition, the troupe has become a black people troupe setting tends for dance and song halls in Shenzhen and around the country as well.

Up to now, SPC has successfully sponsored and organized about 500 performance events in theaters, stadium and gymnasiums, attracting about 3 million spectators. Most of these performance events are sponsored by SPC, mainly including performance events by prestigious artistic troupes from home and abroad. Also, SPC has organized performances for prestigious international artists, including performance event of Hideki Saijo, a Japanese superstar; symphony concert by Tan Dun and international master musicians; piano concert by piano prince Richard Clayderman; and concert of selected musical masterpieces by piano master Fu Cong. We organized performance events for singers from Hong Kong and Taiwan such as Lotayu, Emil, Chyichin, Jonathan Lee, Chyi, Chief, Jeef, Chang Chenyue, Valen Hsu Ru Yun, Priscilla Chan Wai Han, Eric Moo, Samuel Tai and Edison Chen. Also, we organized performance events domestic singers such as Song Zuying, Dong Wenhua, Yang Hongji, Yan Weiwen, Sun Yue, Chen Hong, Yu Quan and Siqin Gerile; for famous comedians such as Zhao Benshan, Fan Wei, Chen Peisi, Feng Gong, Huang Hong, Song Dandan, Niu Zhenhua, Cai Ming and Ge Da; and for those performance artists such as Pan Hong, Pu Cunxi, Tao Hong, Cai Guoqing, Xiao Xiong, Qiao Zhen and Ding Jianhua.

Also, SPC has successfully organized performance events in Shenzhen for Hong Kong singers such as Jacky Cheung, Alan Tom, Andy Lau, Leon, Aaron Kwok, Angus Tung, Esther Kwen, Leslie Cheung, Richie Jen, Faye Wong, George Lam, Sally Yip, Ferren Lee, Phil Cheung, Jay Chow, Kelly Chen, Tse Ting Fung, Twins, A Do, Joey Yung, Hacken Lee; and for Mainland singers such as Cui Jian, Tian Zhen, Liu Huan, Sun Nan, Na Ying, Li Guiyi, Jiang Dawei, Hu Songhua, Wu Yanze, Liu Bingyi, Guan Mucun, Yu Shuzhen, Luo Tianchan, Kelimu and Liu Shiming. In addition, SPC planned and organized a full range of large-scale theatrical events for enterprises, including “10th Anniversary Theatrical Performance” for Fiyta; “Haorizi Comprehensive Theatrical Performance” for Shenzhen Cigarette Factory; “Shihuatong Rejoicing Night” for Shenda Telephone Company; “Aokangde Night ? Symphony Recitation of Chinese Tang and Song Masterpieces” for Aokangde Real Estate Company; “Upgrading Night ? Superstar Performance” for Shenzhen Telecom; “Night of SDB Credit Card ? All-Star Performance” for Shenzhen Development Bank. SPC has organized New Year’s Eve Party in cooperation with Ban of China Shenzhen Branch, China Merchants Bank, China Construction Bank, Industrial & Commercial Bank of China, Bank of Communications, Vanke Real Estate, Jindi Real Estate, Shenzhen Press and Shenzhen University. Beginning in 2001, SPC organized “Top Singer Award-giving Ceremony” in 2001, 2002 and 2003 for Enlight Media.

Since 2003, SPC has organized “Gotone Shenzhen Sino-Foreign Masterpiece Theatrical Performance Season” in cooperation Shenzhen Telecom in which a series of “milestone” high-quality theatrical events has created booming business in Shenzhen performance market. “Masterpiece Theatrical Performance Season” has opened up a new pattern directed by government, supported by enterprises and oriented by market, won extensive reputation for Shenzhen performance market and thus has become a famous theatrical brand in China and around the world as well. Currently the third theatrical performance season is in preparation.

SPC began to organize government-authorized high-taste theatrical events in 2005. Three Beijing Opera performance events titled “CCTV Air Theater” held in March have won excellent commendation from Shenzhen people and CCTV; “Eternal Melody ? 2005 Guangdong Famous Song & Singer Performance (Shenzhen)” held in May has won high praise from leaders of provincial and municipal governments and CPPCC; “Long Live the People ? Symphony & Solo Concert” held during the municipal NPC and CPPCC conferences has won extensive commendation from deputies of the conferences.

Currently, SPC is arranging International Theatrical Show in the key meeting place and organizing large-scale theatrical performance event in Shenzhen Grand Theater during ICIF 2006 to be held in May 2006. Colorful theatrical events in key meeting place as well as accessory meeting place during ICIF 2006 will help create a booming performance market in Shenzhen.

To optimize services to customers, SPC has created its “Shenzhen Booking Network” which currently consists of 50 Internet-based box offices. Also, it is now networked with Guangzhou and is planning to get networked with Hong Kong, Macao, Pearl River Delta Region, Beijing, Shanghai and other major cities around the country.
